Booking

In Recent Bookings,
I see a familiar face,
sorrowful and rough.

Focused

Bounding out of bed,
With purpose and some coffee,
To face down this day!

Such wonderful news!
My focus needs more focus
So I may succeed.

Debt Slavery

Borrowing money
against more borrowed money,
a vicious cycle.

Workingman's Forecast

Daddy always said: “When it rains, it pours.”

but I never knew how bad it could be.

When I was young, I guess I just ignored,

did not notice, or it was kept from me,

how rough and tumble the lows are in life

and just how fleeting and precious the highs;

How best laid plans can be derailed by strife

and out of nowhere from clearest blue skies

the rain starts falling with sun shining bright

and sturdy earth becomes a trap of mud…

So, I’ll add this to my Daddy’s insight:

When it rains, it pours. When it pours, it floods.

Though the water may come up to your chin,

keep treading till you find footing again!
